A Very Merry Oxfordshire Foodie @thetroutoxford ⁣

12 days of December with @theoxfordshirefoodie ❤️🍴🎄⁣

Last week I was invited to test out the brand new festive menu @thetroutoxford ⁣

As a local girl I visited @thetroutoxford many times over the years but never to review so I was keen to see if it lived up to my childhood memories! I loved their Christmas decs, just the right amount and in keeping with the decor but not so subtle you could miss it!🎅🏻⁣

Unfortunately it was too dark to see much of the outside but I have fond memories of sitting by the River Thames and chatting to the occasional Peacock 🦚 ⁣

This was officially my first festive meal and of course I felt it would be rude not to have Turkey! We chose from the classic festive menu which offered a good choice and quite enough foodie decisions for a food menu overthinker like me! Everything was really delicious & nicely presented. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed my Roast dinner as the turkey was moist and not at all dry like I always expect it to be. I even found the Brussels to be tasty! I’d love to know what they did to them 🤷‍♀️⁣

My only criticism was that they had no cranberry sauce as there was a mix up with delivery! They did give bread sauce as standard though and whilst it’s not my thing I know many people who swear by it. You’ll see from the pic that it came with a delicious and large jug of gravy for 1...this is very important!✨⁣

Here’s what else we ate...⁣ ⁣

🎄Deep fried Brie & Sloe Gin Chutney ⁣

🎄Smoked Salmon & King Prawn Pot⁣

🎄Roasted Turkey ⁣

🎄Caramel Creme Brûlée ⁣

A lovely festive cocktail menu to go alongside it meant that I could wash it all down with a Festive Pornstar Martini = A Very Merry Oxfordshire Foodie ❤️🍴⁣

Thanks to @thetroutoxford for a great meal. I look forward to meeting the peacocks by the Thames in 2020 🌊⁣
