Restaurant Review: The Red Lion, Oxford

⁣I was invited to a preview evening at @theredlion_oxford to see their new interior and review the brand new menu. It’s been completely refurbished to a fantastic standard and I was genuinely surprised and impressed by the level of detail that had gone into it. With luxurious booths and a marble bar which extends around the pub, it really is a classy & stylish place to be. A funky mezzanine floor has been added and a toilet room full of so much sass and fun you won’t want to leave!

As a starter lover...the menu was right up my street...tapas size small plates...no choosing or overthinking necessary, just pick a few and share. We loved the Scallops & the Miso Chicken Skewers but frankly I could have devoured them all.⁣⁣

For mains, the menu had a great selection of both pub classics and gastro style dishes but also a good variety of healthy and vegetarian/vegan meals too. We opted for the Chateaubriand (easy decision!) which was presented beautifully on a wooden platter along with sides including twice cooked chips & confit tomatoes. The beef dripping sauce was absolutely divine and was my standout flavour bomb of the evening!🥩 ⁣⁣

Some great choices on the dessert menu too, I particularly loved the sharing dessert birdcage which I regretted not having as it looked pretty epic! ⁣⁣

Overall, a really great evening, I left feeling wowed by the glam decor and stuffed on delicious food...what more could you want?! Thank you to 'The Red Lion' in Oxford for having me and I hope you keep up the good work!
