Cheesy Brussels

As you’ll have likely gathered...I’m pretty into Christmas on the whole and I get right into it...apart from the Brussels Sprouts! At best I hope for them to taste of nothing so I don’t get the horrid after taste! Anyone else?!🤷‍♀️⁣⁣

⁣⁣

When @itsmeadamball challenged me to find a recipe which could convert a NON Brussel eater...I was SCEPTICAL 🤨 ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Let’s be honest; the only ingredient that was ever going to save me here was the yellow stuff of dreams 🧀 ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

So here it is...my suggested recipe for making Brussel Sprouts not only palatable but dare I say it...ENJOYABLE 🤔 ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Cheesy Brussels ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Ingredients ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

600g Brussel Sprouts⁣⁣

50g butter⁣⁣

50ml milk ⁣⁣

75g finely grated pecorino ⁣⁣

Black pepper⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Clean up the sprouts by removing outer leaves and trimming the bottom. Then chop each one in half.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Boil them for 3 - 4 minutes - personally I prefer them al dente so I stay closer to 3 minutes and drain immediately.⁣ ⁣

⁣⁣

Melt the butter in a frying pan, add the Brussels and milk until it’s bubbling. Then add the cheese and cook for a few minutes until the cheese has become a sauce with a few stringy bits in there. Don’t worry about the odd lump of cheese, it adds to the flavour!⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Season with black pepper. Eat, enjoy & change your relationship with Brussel Sprouts forevermore. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

It’s a super simple recipe but to keep things even easier when creating your Christmas dinner I’d suggest cooking the Brussels in advance and creating/adding the sauce etc at the last minute...⁣

Love & food ❤️🍴⁣⁣
